Evesham Archery Club
The new indoor season is upon us and it looks to be another exciting season for us all. But first, a look back at some of last seasons events... Issue 001

Simon De Monfort Trophy

This year's annual shoot between Malvern and Evesham Archery Club was held at Malvern. The shoot was, as always, a huge success and brought with it some most enjoyable shooting, there was good weather and a successful turn out to what has been a popular shoot.

There was one difference made to the shoot this year when Evesham lost for the first time in over 20 years. Despite this, spirits remained high and EAC has much determination to reclaim the trophy next year.

Malvern deserve thanks for hosting another marvellous shoot and laying on a wonderfull spread after the shoot which was enjoyed by all.

We would encourage as many as possible to come and shoot for the club next year as our honour is really at stake as we will be hosting the shoot at Badsey. It is highly enjoyable shoot, so please do come along.
FITA Head to Head Shoot

May 21st saw the dawn of a new competition for Evesham Archery Club which we now hope to turn into an annual event. Despite the appalling wet weather, the shooting went on and the archers lost none of their morale. After huddling together in a group of soaking raincoats, super burgers were enjoyed with good spirts, as was a great deal of successful archery. Living up to its repuation, EAC hosted another brilliant shoot. The work party was an incredibale team this year which made this a successful event. Thanks go to all those who helped to setup, the only thing they didnt manage to fix was the weather but they can't do everything.

This event attracted many top class archers from all over the country who shot excellent scores despite the weather.

Thanks again to everyone who made the shoot a success.
Prince Henry's High School Indoor Shoot

October 15th saw the first indoor shoot of the season, our 6th Stafford, held at PHHS. The shoot was well attended and I'm sure that everyone enjoyed themselves.

Thanks go once again to all of the members who gave their time to help with the setting up, running and clearing away. It has to be stressed that the shoots are a huge financial help to the club. They help to create funds for new equipment and help to keep membership fees down. The main reason that our fees are so low compared to lots of other clubs is simply because we put on good shoots that people enjoy entering. Without these great events and other things like raffles and 'have a go' sessions, fees would be much higher.

So a big thank you once again to all those who helped.
Club Champs

Another brilliant club champs was held this year on September 9th. The weather couldn't have been better except for the wind (at Badsey; suprise, suprise!) which attempted to blow at the barbeque.

After a good lot of shooting, the best part of the day was enjoyed - the barbeque. Everyone made their way to the clubhouse for a great barbeque by Heater and Vern. It was certainly a sound reminder that good company, food and drink is what archery is really about.
Remember to check the notice board!

Don't forget to check out the notice board at the top of the stairs in Wallce House. There is all the information about forthcoming shoots, items for sale and award schemes.

Check your EAC calendar for dates of club shoots.
Christmas Dinner

This years Christmas dinner was held on the 9th December at The Weatsheaf in Badsey. A very good evening was enjoyed by some 24 members and guests. Many thanks to Heather for organising this annual event.
Beginners Courses

Beginners courses were run on a Thursday night and were very well attended. It was great to see some new faces. The scheme has now graviated indoors with a designated mentor each week to help out any new archers if they need it. Many thanks to Ian, our Club Coach, for his hard work with the beginner and novice archers.
Ryan Lee and his Six Gold End, June 2006.
